Torii Frame

A torii marks a threshold — the gateway between the ordinary and the considered. This frame borrows that form: two uprights, a stepped crossbeam, a base, and the open interval between them that holds whatever you choose to display.

The frame stands freely and presents both faces equally, making it well suited to hallways, mantels, open shelving, or any transitional space where objects are seen from more than one direction. It is designed for two photographs displayed back to back, or for any two-sided object — a postcard, a document, a keepsake — that deserves to be seen whole.

Display options are flexible. Photo triangles give a floating effect that lets the object breathe within the frame; mat board provides a more formal border and can be cut to different sizes on each face to accommodate objects of unequal dimensions. Made in cherry. Built to order.
